What Are Your Top 3 Core Values?

What goals and dreams are you reaching for in 2024? Do they align with you core values? Landing on my core values took some time and reflection, but since then I’ve been able to write down goals and dreams and see how they align with my top 3 core values. I’m going into 2024 using these 3 core values at the forefront.

Presence:

I can get caught up in thought patterns that keep me stuck in the past, worrying about the future, or frustrated with what is happening in the here and now. None of which are truly being present.

Presence, for me, means truly being present and letting go of any resistance to what is happening and it has become one of my top core values. It’s not always easy, but by not resisting and wishing whatever is happening was different, I have so much more peace.

Peace:

For me living at peace means a few things. Not that I’m perfect or succeed with them all every single day, but that I try my best to make them a part of my day.

  1. Incorporating practices into my daily rhythms that keep me centered and lower my stress. Practices like centering prayer and meditation, exercise, and trying to practice mindfulness throughout my day.
  2. Observing my thoughts. I’ve created a list to ask myself about any thought that comes into my mind that I seem to be holding on to. (You can get that list here.)
  3. Filtering any opportunity or request by asking if it will cause me more stress? I trust my instincts when it comes to saying yes or no to opportunities or requests.

Purpose:

It’s so easy for me to lose sight of my purpose whether that’s a larger purpose or what I call a present moment purpose. I don’t want to lose site of the larger purpose I feel I am called to: helping my people overcome the “people” and productivity challenges that cause them stress in the workplace or stress in their personal life. I also can’t forget that at any given moment my purpose in the present moment may be to make someone feel seen and heard or it may slowing down to just simply be and sitting in stillness and rest.
